It is on record that humans have made remarkable progress in terms of development more than any other living species. There is no aspect of human development that is not connected to human culture. Thus human development and civilization are inextricably linked to Fada Jon Ofoegbu Ukaegbuhuman culture; hence we refer to humans as cultural beings.  Despite the fact that Social scientists have varying definitions and explanations of culture, culture stands as a basic element in every human endeavor. Here we shall briefly treat culture in a particular context, that is, the Igbo cultural milieu.
